Goodman-Gable-Gould/Adjusters International Honored by Richmond Fire Fighters
On October 25th, the Richmond, Virginia Fire Department held their 153rd Annual Awards Banquet. During this awards ceremony, Fire Chief Robert Creecy honored dozens of firemen and women for their life-saving actions, as well as their service to the City of Richmond. At the end of the awards ceremony, Goodman-Gable-Gould/Adjusters International (GGG/AI) was presented with a “Civilian Citation,” the Fire Department’s community service award, in appreciation of our ongoing support of their fire safety program.
In 2010, the number of fire-related fatalities in Richmond reached 11. As a result, the Richmond Fire Department instituted a new initiative to educate the general public about fire safety. With the financial assistance of key sponsors, like GGG/AI, the Fire Department contracted with the Greater Richmond Transit Company to display the “Plan Your Escape” ads to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Placed on four buses, these full-size wrap-around ads prominently display key messages, including: ‘Get your family and get out’; ‘Go to your designated meeting place’; ‘Call 911 after you are out’; and ‘Let the professionals fight the fire.’
Chris Schwarz, Vice President of GGG/AI, accepted this award on behalf of the company. “We are honored and humbled to have received this award from the men and women who dedicate their lives to our community,” says Schwarz. “We are glad to be able to do our part in getting the message out about the importance of having a fire safety plan.”
